The Haunted Palace K‑Drama Review: A Spellbinding Mix of Romance, Fantasy & Folklore

Okay mga momsh, I’m officially obsessed.
Alam n’yo naman, our “me-time” usually means 30 minutes of peace with coffee (kung may chance) or sneaking in one episode of K-Drama habang tulog ang kids. But with The Haunted Palace? Aba, I traded sleep for this one. TOTOO.

The Haunted Palace

Ano’ng Meron Dito?

Set during the Joseon era, the story follows Yeo-ri (played by Bona), a young woman born into a powerful shaman family, pero tumakbo sa responsibilidad. She just wants to live a quiet life—pero hindi ‘yun papayagan ng mga multo sa paligid niya! Especially when Yoon Gap (Yook Sungjae) — her long-lost first love — returns, possessed by an ancient serpent spirit. Yes, mga teh, serpent. Hindi lang basta multo!

Together, they face vengeful ghosts, palace secrets, and unfinished love. As in, lahat-lahat na — love story, horror, fantasy, political drama, pati konting comedy. Complete meal.

Bakit Worth It sa Oras ng Isang Pagod na Nanay?

  • May Kilig at May Wisdom: May romance na hindi pilit, may life lessons na masakit pero real. Para kang sinampal ng katotohanan habang kinikilig.
  • Strong Female Lead: Yeo-ri is brave, gentle, and real. Kahit takot siya, she still steps up. Parang tayo, diba? Moms doing scary things for love.
  • Visuals na Ibang Level: The palace is super creepy (perfect sa horror vibes), but also ang ganda ng costumes and cinematography.
  • Nakakaiyak in a Good Way: Hindi lang puro multo, it talks about grief, parenthood, and what it means to protect the people you love—even if it means facing the dark.

Munting Paalala:

  • Medyo Mabagal Sa Simula: Don’t expect kaboom agad sa first episode. Patience lang, momsh—rewarding ang build-up!
  • Wag Manood Nang Mag-isa Kung Mahina Loob Mo: Legit may moments na mapapa-ilaw ka ng buong bahay. I had to pause and breathe with matching dasal, LOL.

The Haunted Palace isn’t just a supernatural love story, it’s about embracing who you are, protecting your loved ones, and healing from the past. Para siyang sinigang—sour, warm, and comforting. May multo, yes, pero mas matindi ‘yung hugot.

If you’re looking for a new K-Drama na hindi lang pampakilig kundi pang-emote at pang-isip, this one’s for you.

So go ahead, momsh — i-ready na ang tsaa, kumot, at remote control. Isa na namang gabi ng “one more episode lang” is coming!
