Snacks That Keep My Kids Happy (Without Breaking the Budget)

If there’s one thing kids are consistent about, it’s this: lagi silang gutom. 😂 Minsan kakakain lang, and two minutes later, “Mommy, I’m hungry!” The tricky part? Finding snacks na hindi lang masarap at kid-approved, but also budget-friendly for us moms.

Over the years, I’ve learned to get creative with snack time. Hindi kailangan fancy or mahal. With a little diskarte, you can whip up treats that your kids will love—at hindi sasakit ulo mo sa gastos.

Here are some of my tried-and-tested snack ideas:

  1. Banana + Peanut Butter
Nutritious, filling, and quick. Bonus: bananas are super affordable and always available.
  2. Homemade Cheese Sticks
Every kid’s favorite! All you need are lumpia wrappers and cheese. Fry or air-fry and serve with ketchup—sure win.
  3. Popcorn (Homemade Version)
Instead of the microwave packs, buy popcorn kernels. A bag goes a long way, and you can flavor it with cheese powder, garlic salt, or even sweet caramel.
  4. Pancake Bites
Cook pancakes ahead, cut into bite-size pieces, and serve with syrup or dip. Great for baon, too!
  5. Kamote Fries
Cheap, healthy, and tasty. Slice, fry, and sprinkle with a little cinnamon sugar. Kids love them, and they’re way better than regular fries.

💡 Tip: Buy snacks in bulk or in-season fruits para mas tipid. I also portion them in small containers para “ready-to-grab” snacks na for the kids.

At the end of the day, snacks don’t need to be complicated. As long as they’re filling, affordable, and made with love, our kids will always come running back for more. 😉
