How I Budget Our Family Income Like a Pro (Without Feeling Deprived)

budget

As a mom, I know how it feels to stretch every peso — groceries, tuition, bills, birthday handa… and a little “me-time” if may sobra. 😅

Over the years, I found a budgeting system that actually works — simple enough for everyday life, but effective in helping us save and plan for the future.

Here’s what I do:

  1. 50-30-20 Rule (Simplified Mom Version)
50% needs (bills, food), 30% wants (small joys, kids’ treats), 20% savings/investments.
  2. Track Every Peso using a free app like Money Manager or Spendee.
Seeing where the money goes is eye-opening!
  3. Set Monthly Goals. Example: “₱1,000 extra savings this month.” Small goals add up.
  4. Have an Emergency Fund. Kahit maliit pa lang, it’s your peace of mind.
  5. Celebrate Wins! Reward yourself with something small when you hit a goal — a milk tea, maybe? 🧋

Budgeting doesn’t have to be boring. It’s a love language — for yourself, your family, and your peace of mind. 💕
