Cleaning Hacks That Actually Work (Tested by a Tired Mom)

cleaning hacks that work

If there’s one thing motherhood has taught me, it’s that cleaning never ends. 😅 You mop, sweep, and wipe everything down — and ten minutes later, may kalat na naman! Between school drop-offs, cooking, and working from home, it sometimes feels impossible to keep the house clean and keep your sanity.

But over the years (and many spilled juices later), I’ve found a few cleaning hacks that actually work — tested by yours truly, a tired but determined mom. 💪

1. Use White Vinegar for Almost Everything

Vinegar is a miracle cleaner! Mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle — it cleans glass, kitchen counters, and even removes limescale in your bathroom.

💡 Mom Tip: Add a few drops of lemon essential oil para hindi amoy adobo ang bahay mo!

2. Baking Soda for the Win

Baking soda is your best friend for removing odors. Sprinkle it inside shoes, on the sofa, or even on your mattress before vacuuming.
I do this every two weeks — it keeps everything smelling fresh without using harsh chemicals.

3. Magic Eraser for Walls and Shoes

If you have little artists at home (ahem, Twinkle 😅), those crayon marks on the wall are no surprise. A magic eraser works wonders — just wet it and wipe gently. Also perfect for cleaning white rubber shoes!

4. The 15-Minute Nightly Cleanup

Here’s one hack that keeps me sane: every night before bed, our family does a quick 15-minute cleanup. Each person picks one area — toys, dishes, laundry, etc. It’s amazing how much you can do in just 15 minutes when everyone helps.

5. Microfiber Cloths Are Worth It

They might look like ordinary rags, but microfiber cloths trap dust better and clean faster. I bought a pack online for ₱200, and they’ve lasted months. No more linty rags!

Cleaning doesn’t have to be perfect — just peaceful. Even if the house isn’t spotless, what matters is that it feels like home.

So next time you’re exhausted but still holding that mop, remember: you’re not just cleaning — you’re creating comfort for your family. 💕
