Gus* Design Group is a modern furniture company based in Canada. They design and manufacture upholstered seating, accents, and accessories which comprise the Gus* Modern Collection. In addition, they provide services for contract and private-label design and manufacturing for a wide range of clients. Their products range from Sofas, Sectionals, Beds, Storage Units, Dining Tables & Chairs, Accent Tables, Ottomans, Lighting, and Accessories.
Last month, I was able to visit Gus* in their new home at the LRI Design Plaza in Makati and here’s what I found out about them.
Living Space Home Furnishings brought Gus here in the Philippines in 2010. They wanted to bring in a brand that has the same youthful energy and awareness on social responsibility as they are. Gus* Modern is proud to be an FSC-Certified Company and a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council. All Gus* Modern ensures that all its wood products come from well-managed forest. Only companies that have an FSC certification number, and submit to a rigorous and ongoing auditing process to ensure compliance with strict FSC standards and principles, may claim to be FSC-Certified or claim to use FSC-Certified wood.
Their Mission
We are inspired by simple forms and honest materials. We use them as the springboard for everything we create. From the simple two-by-four and construction I-Beam, to the useful miter box, we delight in the simplicity of everyday objects. The result is furniture, accent pieces, and accessories that mix the elegant with the industrial. Mirroring the great modernist of yesterday, we strive to combine great design and practical purpose.
