Last February 2, we celebrated my Nanay’s 74th birthday. We originally planned on just going out and trying out Wang Fu Chinese Cafe over at Il Terrazzo in Tomas Morato .Three days before her birthday came, she told us she doesn’t feel like going out on her birthday.
So what we did was we prepared a simple birthday celebration for her at home.
We brought her a heart-shaped chocolate cake from Goldilocks and had them put a birthday greeting on top.
Last November 2 was my father’s 72nd birthday. We had a simple celebration. I bought an egg pie and a chocolate cake from Goldilocks and I had the words “Happy Birthday Lolo! We Love You! Fr: Ykaie, Cyra and Babin” written on it.
Sis bought two bucket meals from KFC and a couple of orders of Spring Rolls from Silver Crown while my mother had my aunt cook Pancit Malabon.
The kids sang the Happy Birthday song to their grandfather and helped him blew the candles. They even asked him to make a wish. I think his wish went something like a pair of new shoes and the ability to buy coins to give to his grandchildren.
It was a simple celebration and yet a fun filled day for the celebrant and the nosey apo’s….
