Ykaie found this Coffee Shop toy over a stack of toys at Puregold while grocery shopping one night and she asked me if we could buy it. She really wanted something like this to play with and since I don’t always buy here toys, I said yes.
I told her we could transform her Market Stall, our Christmas gift to her in 2012, into a cafe and she got excited. We also bought another set of toy pastries for her “cafe”
After taking Ykaie and her cousins to school the following day, I cleaned her Market Stall and set it up as a coffee shop. The fresh fruits and the register were kept. The fruit boxes were turned into a pastry case.
When I fetched her home and saw the set-up, she was so surprised. She hugged me and thanked me.
Ykaie and her cousins were so excited to play that they changed into their house clothes as quickly as they can.
She even used this chef costume given by her lolo and lola….
I became one of their most loyal customerss on this day.. ordering coffee and donuts and brownies….LOL!

When i was young i also had a similar set of of toys. My daughter at this moment is more interested in dressing up her barbies.
Hehe I remember when my sister and I also used to play lutu-lutuan where we will cook “plastic” food in our “plastic” kitchen. Happiness! ๐
Kids do love and enjoy playing playhouse and most especially sham vending or small merchandising. They like to imagine things, real things in their playtime.
Hi Ykaie, can I order mochaccino and brownies please ๐ Wow nice set for a coffee-shop play, how i wish i really had a daughter ๐
Tristan had that exact same set when he was younger! We’re all coffee addicts at home and we’ve spent lots of time at Starbucks together as a family, so he was excited about being our “barista” for a while hehe. ๐
This post is so cute! I can still remember my childhood days where me and my sisters play luto-lutuan. Until now, my cooking set toys are kept by my younger sister and we plan to hand them down to our nieces.
hahahah! i remember when i was a kid, i used to love this kind of play. but now… arghh. cooking is hassle in a fast-paced lifestyle.
Looks like you have a future Barista. Nice of you to find a coffee set for her.
