Aside from flooding towns and cities, many powerlines were brought down by typhoon “Pedring” last September 26. To keep the kids entertained during daytime, I let them watch Zookeeper. But our portable CD player soon ran out of batteries.
We were so bored because we couldn’t do anything. There was no internet and no tv. That triggered the idea to hold a Brown-Out-inspired tea party..which I’ll show you on another time.
Come night time, I took out this extra mattress that we have out in the terrace and we hung out there. We told the kids scary stories while eating chips and dried mangoes.
When everybody became sleepy, I didn’t remove the mattress in its location. Ykaie and I slept near the terrace, it’s cooler there because of the wind from the typhoon but I still had to be a human electric fan and fan ykaie manually from time to time.
Power’s out for two days. I know this experience will be memorable for Ykaie.

Awwts. Lucky us, we just had brownout from 7am to 4pm.
I feel you sis! Super hirap ng situation lalo na sa ating mga moms.. We have to be human electric fan and as much as possible entertain the kids coz they get easily bored and irritated lalo na kung mainit! 🙁
Also, my 1 yr 10 months old daughter keeps on telling me.. “Dowa!!” (Dora!!). Yes, the portable DVD is our savior! hehe 🙂
