This is a totally sudden and unplanned trip to Puerto Galera. My sister who calls herself Anney booked a groupon deal for four people for 3 days and 2 nights stay here at El Canonero Diving Resort. All her friends backed out from this trip and the night before, she asked me and Rome to come with her.
El Canonero is located along the far end of Talipanan Beach. It is farther than White Beach and is around 5-10 minutes away by boat. Being the paranoid mom that I am, I always make sure Ykaie is safe when boarding any boat or ferry. As usual, there wasn’t any life vest available for kids in the ferry going to and from Batangas Pier. I made a mental note to check out the life vests as soon as I get home.
We arrived at the resort at around 5pm.
We had an air-conditioned room with a double bed and one double deck. Rome got the top bunk, sis the bottom and then Ykaie and I got the double bed.
There is a mini- fridge, a tv and some toiletries like soap, shampoo and tissue roll.
There was wifi but only outside the room near the restaurant and bar area. Inside the room? Wifi is non-existent. One of the things that I don’t like about El Canonero is that the flow of water in the shower is so weak. It will take you literally 30 minutes to take a bath before you get done. We had to ask for a pail and use Ykaie’s toy pail as dipper.
This is the pool area. The deepest end is 8 feet deep. Those who take diving lessons use this half of the pool most of the time.
We managed to have a few photos taken before it got too dark.
By sunset, we were already checking out the menu at their Octopus Restaurant for dinner…

Ykaei does really good with her poses. Very comfortable in front of the camera.

What a beautiful place and room. I like the bathroom with a separate so the whole bathroom floor especially the toilet bowl won’t get way every time you shower.
