Fiuu expands JCB acceptance to Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, with Thailand planned next.

Fiuu, the leading fintech platform in Southeast Asia, has secured a JCB Direct Acquiring license as a Regional Acquirer across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. The milestone strengthens Fiuu’s card acquiring capabilities by enabling Fiuu to connect directly with JCB and process transactions in-house, reducing reliance on intermediaries and giving merchants a more dependable way to accept JCB payments across online and offline channels.
Direct acquiring gives businesses more than another payment option. With greater control over transaction processing, settlement operations, payment performance, and merchant servicing, Fiuu can support faster settlement processes, clearer transaction visibility, improved reliability, and a more consistent acceptance experience for JCB Cardmembers.
The license also builds on Fiuu’s proven regional payment scale. In FY2025, Fiuu processed a total payment volume of US$13 billion, reflecting its capacity to support high-volume digital payment activity for businesses across sectors and markets.
Southeast Asia’s digital commerce and payments landscape continues to mature, with sustained growth across digital transactions and card usage. Three in five people in the region now shop online, and over 60% of all payments are digital. While QR and wallet payments continue to grow, credit cards remain resilient, supported by long-standing consumer habits and strong rewards ecosystems. These trends reinforce the importance of strong card acceptance across digital and physical channels.
“This milestone reflects the next phase of Fiuu’s regional acquiring growth. Businesses expanding across Southeast Asia need payment partners that can combine local market understanding, direct scheme connectivity, and operational depth. Our direct acquiring relationship with JCB strengthens that foundation, allowing us to support merchants with broader acceptance, greater consistency, and the confidence to serve customers across both digital and physical commerce,” said Eng Sheng Guan, CEO of Fiuu.
JCB is a major global payment brand and a leading credit card issuer and acquirer in Japan, with 181 million cards issued globally as of 2026, acceptance at 72 million merchants worldwide. Through this collaboration, JCB acceptance is expected to grow across Fiuu’s merchant network, giving businesses access to more JCB Cardmembers while strengthening payment coverage across the region.
“We are delighted to partner with Fiuu as our Regional Acquirer for Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. As Southeast Asia’s payments landscape continues to evolve rapidly, Fiuu’s regional expertise, fast-growing merchant network, and multi-channel payment capabilities make it an important partner inexpanding JCB acceptance across this region. Together, we are committed to making JCB more accessible to merchants and cardmembers while expanding the payment network for JCB Cardmembers,” said Shimpei Yamaguchi, Managing Director of JCB International Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.
With direct acquiring coverage across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, Fiuu is actively working to extend this capability to Thailand, a key market in its regional growth strategy. The planned expansion reflects Fiuu’s broader ambition to strengthen its role as a leading regional Card Scheme Acquirer across Southeast Asia, giving businesses access to a single payment partner with direct acquiring capability, local market understanding, and secure, scalable payment solutions.
By becoming a JCB Direct Acquirer, Fiuu continues to deepen its role as a trusted regional payment partner for businesses seeking stronger acceptance, better operational efficiency, and wider customer reach.
