Ykaie and her cousins who have lice have been bonding a little too much that the lice felt they were very close now that some of them migrated to ykaie’s head.
I guess you could say that lice are contagious. They can be transmitted in a number of ways. Contact is one way but they can also be transmitted by sharing comb, hats or even pillows.
I already know that Cyra and Cyrine has head lice but how did I find out that Ykaie already has one? Symptoms of head lice include itching and redness of the scalp. I noticed that Ykaie has been frequently scratching her head so I checked it and found lots of lice eggs in each strand.
Okay, I said to myself… this is WAR!! Mommy vs. Head Lice…
My first step in lice treatment is buying Licealiz head lice treatment shampoo. This cost around P9 per sachet.
Instructions says that you can use it like a regular shampoo. Wet hair, massage shampoo into head and scalp but you should let it stay for a minimum of ten minutes before rinsing. Then use a fine-toothed comb {suyod} to remove lice and their eggs.
I’ll make sure I do this twice a week to clear them of lice infestation but since lice can live up to three days off the human body I will have to do a few more things:
- I have to soak all brush and combs in hot water for 10 minutes.
- Wash all beddings and sheets and all worn clothes in hot water
- Consistently check them for lice re-infestation

i think most of the kids pass the stage where lice become a temporary resident in their heads. my kids too, and de-liced them at once.
